G-code for Foam Cutter Cnc Image to Gcode

Objective: Create gcode for foam cutter cnc

The foam cutters begin popular because use foam material that is cheap and easy to find.

In image is the costycnc foam cutter cnc.

The gcode for foamcutters need to have a unique cut that passing on all paths! Foamcutters not have z axe ... have only x and y movement. So ... programs for create gcode for foam cutters is little complicated than programs for cnc cutters that have z axe.

But with www.costycnc.it/cm8 page create gcode is easy.The program find the neighborod path and unites all path in one path by one continuous line!

Not use small images or with low resolution bcause result is not better !

Also is use big image or with high resolution need to wait minutes after the program finished to calculate path.

Ideally is images with more than 500 pixel or less that 1500 pixels.

More pixels is better ... but need to wait more!

Step 1:

Need to have a image black and white or create one with a graphic editor like Inkscape,CorelDraw,Photoshop,ecc.

Image need to be in raster format so bmp,jpg,png,ecc ... you can try also with svg ... but im not finished yet the testings.

Not suport dxf and another vectors format ... support only svg but in particular cases!

Step 2:

Load your file with load button ...

Step 3:

And g-code is create automatically and ready to send to costycnc foam cutter or download in your computer for later use!

As you see ... all shaped is joined by a line automatically ... so not need to joined manual ... that in some cases is a huge work!
