Geodesic Paper Dome

This a Geodesic Dome model i made from watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv01yWHo_1o
you can also find a text version at http://www.Hilaroad.com ,which is but one of the many great science projects on the site.
the dome is only made out of normal bond paper and PVA glue,but it is pretty robust due to its shape.I suppose modified domes like this made out of clear acrylic or PVC would make good green houses or large outdoor telescope covers (which was one of their original uses). You do need a good geometry set and patience if you draw all the triangles manually (actually, unlike me sane people would probably print them out).

Kids get a kick out of making a geodesic dome. They test their weight holding capacity and also discuss about how to connect multiple domes while making space colonies.
