Have you tried Windows 7 yet? I'm Using it on my $500 computer and it works really great.

Lol that was a bit of exaggeration but I don't think it would run on my computer though.

you'd be suprised, my comp. has the folowing:
1gb ram
120gb ssd
1.7ghz celeron M
256mb 500mhz intergrated intel graphic card
I wanted to put more RAM but I was to cheap to buy any.
what are the specs on your computer? if theyr similar to mine it should work fine.

Oh, Maybe It would work on my computer.
Specs:
480mb Ram
1.4 ghz processor
40gb HD
I really would like to buy sum more ram because I know my computer can have more because it said on the box XD, but I wouldn't know where to get it from or how to put it in.

Oh and my computer was £100 second hand... I'm only 13

is it a laptop?
you can get ram on ebay, but the prices go up fast, or you could try a store like best buy (or uk equv). they will always have ram, just make sure you know what kind to buy, (usualy in the users manual along with instructions on how to instal it).
what kind of processor? intel? AMD?
the hard drive is a little on the small side but those are very cheap on ebay 20-30 for a 80gb
what computer do you have? brand and model#

well my acer aspire one has the ram slot on the side of the motherboard facing the keyboard. so, in other words, if i wanted to upgrade, then I have to take the thing apart, take out the motherboard, take out the keyboard, etc
Reply 12 years ago on Introduction
which is common with many laptops, taking it apart is usually easy

Or a netbook lol.

I highly doubt windows would run on my netbook: 480MB RAM, 40 MB/S 8GB SSD.

One simple Step to make your computer look like Linux Install Linux on it...
Reply 13 years ago on Introduction
Yes but what if that's not an option for you?
Reply 13 years ago on Introduction
Dual Boot. I can run Windows 7 or Linux Ubuntu by selecting my option at boot.
Reply 12 years ago on Introduction
same! and I use ssh -X to run stuff on that computer from my netbook (when its running linux, which is...all the time)

Nice pics. I also like the anti-Windows/ Microsoft attitude. I am an Ubuntu linux user and think that Ubuntu is a great choice for anyone looking for a free alternative to Windows and the world of proprietary software.

I hate Micro$oft too...
But I don't hate XP\9x!
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Yeah. Windows XP is pretty good although it is Microsoft. What's 9x?

Windows 95 and Windows 98.
Reply 13 years ago on Introduction
