Glass Patio Table Hole Gasket for Umbrella Pole

Intro: Glass Patio Table Hole Gasket for Umbrella Pole

I needed to replace the rubber gasket in our glass patio table to protect the umbrella hole from damage by the umbrella pole. I had some left-over plastic flex tubing (mainly used to organize wires and cables) and I was able to make a functional protective gasket. I cut several 3-inch long sections of split tubing and wrapped them around the umbrella pole, adding enough sections to build up the diameter to fill the hole. Works great and looks decent enough to pass inspection by the lady of the house!

I have a very similar glass table with exactly the same problem. Was going to use sugru, but this looks simple and cheap and does the job. Thanks.
Thanks Tim! Nice to know I'm not the only one.
