Glitter Candle Jar DIY

This is a pretty easy DIY candle holder. The glitter on the jar has a lovely way of catching the light from the candle inside, which I love. Let's get started!

Step 1: What You Need.

• Candle
• Empty jar
• Glue
• Glitter
• Newspaper (to protect workspace)

Step 2: Coat the Inside of Your Jar With Glue, Only As High Up As You Want the Glitter to Go.

I did this with bare hands, but an alternative would be to put a napkin on your hand like a glove and smear it around like that. Use enough glue that it fully coats the inside of the jar that you want glittered, but not so much that it drips.

I avoided getting glue and glitter on the bottom of the jar because I wanted a smooth surface to let the candle rest on.

Step 3: Dump the Glitter Into the Jar.

Roll the jar around in circles until all of the glued parts are coated with glitter, and then knock the jar into a bowl to get rid of excess glitter. You can dump the bowl back into your glitter container for later use.

Step 4: Let Your Jar Dry Completely Before Putting a Candle in It.

Be sure that your jar is big enough that the candle doesn't touch the edges; I'm not sure what heat does to regular Elmer's glue, so in case it can liquefy it and make the glue run, I'm sticking with a tea light despite the size of my jar. And then, ta-da, you have a glittery, pretty candle holder!
