Intro: Glue Gem Sculpture

How to make a gem-like sculpture out of glue.

All you need is: Tacky Glue

Roll up the glue with your forefinger and your thumb to make a round ball of glue. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

The glue balls will adhere to each other as long as they are put together before drying completely.

Put as much or as little as desired. Relax, watch a movie, and have fun!

How did you mount it for display?

I found that string (preferably transparent string) is the best for displaying the glue gem. You can attach the glue balls on the string from the beginning and add on around the string as you go. You can also get a needle and string to poke holes while the glue is moist to get a bead-like effect.

After getting the string tightly through the glue gem, you can tie the strings on to whatever you need, or use hooks to hang the gem by its string. This can also go for jewelry.

I hope that helps!

Is that how you did that final image?

I can't see the thread - did you photoshop it out?

This reminds me of my childhood. I used to make fake skin by spreading glue on my hands, letting it dry, then peeling it off. Also used to make bouncy balls out of the rubber cement at school, but had to be careful not to get caught doing that one.
