Introduction: Gluten Free French Fry Fondue
I think fondue is one of the greatest things ever invented!! I have a nice fancy fondue pot, but sometimes its easier and faster to just whip it up on the stove. Its also pretty fun to let my 3 year old help stir. Sometimes I miss dipping French bread into warm gooey cheese, and it occurred to me that there might be something better than bread dipped in cheese....French fries!
Ingredients:
Bag of gluten free frozen french fries (I like Alexia Organic Yukon Select)
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
Salt & Pepper
Garlic Powder
Instructions:
Bake your french fries according to the package directions. When they are about 7 minutes away from being done, heat the milk in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Stir in the cheeses and mustard. Sprinkle a dash of garlic powder, salt and pepper into pan. Stir continuously as the cheese melts...mix well. It should come together very quickly...serve warm. Makes about 1 cup.
Notes: This is outstanding....seriously. It takes no time at all and tastes like heaven. Make sure you serve the fruits and vegetables BEFORE letting your kids eat this, because once you start you can't stop...and once they are all gone there is no room left in your stomach for anything else. You can change up the cheeses to use whatever you have on hand. I had cheddar and mozzarella and it was awesome. You can add more or less garlic/salt/pepper depending on your taste buds :)
