Introduction: Good Luck Knot Lanyard

I lanyard uses the arms of the good luck knot to make the loops of the lanyard.

I used a 42" length of 1/4" cotton cord to make the large lanyard.

I used a shoelace of the same size in the tutorial

I used proportionally shorter cord to male smaller (can also be used as zipper pull)

Step 1:

Fold your cord so that one end is 12" longer than the other.

Step 2:

Bring the other end of this large loop to form 2 loops. These loops will be larger than the loops in the finished knot.

Step 3:

Put a dowel over the center of the loops.

Step 4:

Bring the two ends over the dowel.

Step 5:

Bring the top loop (call it A) over these two ends.

Step 6:

Bring the remaining loop over A and under the bights formed in step 4.

Step 7:

Tighten the knot

Step 8:

Turn the knot over and bring the right hand loop to the left as shown.

Step 9:

Bring the legs down across this loop.

Step 10:

Bring the last loop over the legs and under the bights as shown. Tighten the knot.

Step 11:

Take the longer leg and form the top loop of the lanyard.

Step 12:

Wrap this end around the loop and the shorter leg two or more times

Step 13:

Bring the end through the middle of these turns and tighten. The knot is complete. Trim them ends
