Introduction: Gourdface
"Why the long face?"
Step 1: Draw on a Gourd
This gourd was a few notches more pumpkinish than some others I've encountered, and quite manageable once you get through the hard skin. Perhaps some genetic experimentation by an indiscriminate pollinator?
Step 2: Break on Through
The trick here was to get past the skin without accidentally stabbing too deeply. So I started with a vegetable peeler in a few spots, then followed up with my go-to clay tools.
Step 3: Finish
This guy should have a relatively long life span, since I never broke into the seedy, pithy part. So perhaps he'll retire to a life of travel, during which he can visit his distant relatives on Easter Island.
