Intro: Gourmet Hot Dog Alfredo

I know you're probably raising your eyebrows right about now, but give this recipe a try!

My husband scarfed this down like it was his last meal.  When I asked him if he would eat it again,  he asked me "Is tomorrow too soon?" ;-D~

I think your tastebuds will be delighted, too!!!

Serves 1

Ingredients:
  • One Container Instant Ramen Noodles- (Cup-style)- Any flavor
  • 2 oz. Cream Cheese- softened
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Nonfat Milk
  • Pinch of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 or 2 Hot Dogs
Preparation:

Grill 1 or 2 Hot dogs (depending on your appetite;-) Cut the hot dogs in diagonal slices. Place in a bowl and set aside.

Prepare the Ramen Noodles exactly as directed on the label.

When the noodles are fully cooked, drain them over a small saucepan. Put the cooked noodles back into the original container cup and close the lid to keep it warm.

Put the softened cream cheese in a small bowl. Add 1 Tablespoon ramen broth and stir well until the mixture is creamy. Add the Dry nonfat milk and continue stirring until smooth.

Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the  remaining ramen broth in the pan. Use a wooden spoon and mix well. Turn the stovetop burner to medium high and bring the sauce to a simmer.

Add Garlic powder and Butter.  Reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring constantly until the sauce is reduced to your preferred consistency.

Place 1/2 of the warm ramen noodles into a serving bowl. Scatter with 1/2 of the sliced hot dogs. Drizzle with 1/2 of the hot alfredo sauce. Top with the remaining ramen noodles, hot dogs and alfredo sauce.

Sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese and serve,

Bon Appetit! ;-)

Oh yes, I like it.

Thank you, lemonie!
My grandkids love ramen and hotdogs. They would eat that! I'm just not a hotdog fan.
I used to fix my girls Top Ramen Alfredo-style all the time because I felt guilty about serving it to them plain.

I'm doing the low-carb gig and it took every ounce of restraint to NOT take a big, warm, cheesey bite of this stuff!

I don't really like hotdogs all that much either. ;-)

Thanks for your comment.
I gotta say, that first picture there makes it look very classy :) Very inventive recipe!
