This recipe is an egg less version of Vanilla Ice cream. This recipe is very simple to make and does not require an ice cream maker. Hope you like it. The ice cream is milk based and creamy in texture.
This recipe is passed on down the generation. This is a classic ice cream recipe which every one in the family loves. I love this recipe. Every time I make it brings back my child hood memories.
STEP 1: Ingredients
Serves - 4
Preparation Time - 5 minutes
Cooking Time - 10 minutes
Ingredients:
Milk - 1/2 Litre
Sugar - 1 Cup
Corn Flour - 2 Tbsp
Butter - 2 Tbsp
Vanilla Extract - 1 Tsp
Water - 1/4
Tools Required:
Blender
STEP 2: Cornflour and Water
Mix corn flour and water till there is no lumps.
STEP 3: Heat
Heat the milk in a pan.
Add sugar and heat till completely dissolved.
Add the corn flour and water to the milk. Heat at low heat till it turns creamy.
This will take about 3-5 minutes.
STEP 4: Blend
Now when the heat of the ice cream base has reduced, add butter and vanilla extract.
Blend well till fluffy.
The more you blend, the more creamy the ice cream will be.
STEP 5: Freeze
Transfer it to a bowl. Now freeze it for 3 hours or more till set.
When set serve the ice cream and garnish with corn flakes.

That looks like corn starch – not corn flour :)
I never tried corn flakes as a topping – perhaps I should!

The author information says she is from India - they use a UK terminology, so what we would call corn starch in North America is what they call corn flour, and used as a thickener, like in this recipe.
North Americans would usually consider corn flour to be more like finely ground corn that would be used as flour for baking.
