Introduction: Grandma's Homemade Guacamole

Guacamole was originally made by the Aztecs by the 16th century. It has become more popular in North America and is used as a dip, condiment, and salad enhancer. Here we provide a simple recipe, so anyone of any age can make homemade guacamole.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Yield: Seven- 1/2 cup servings

Gather the following ingredients to make a fiesta for seven (1/2 cup servings):

  1. 5 Ripe avocados: peeled, pitted and cut into chunks
  2. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  3. 1 tbsp lime juice
  4. 1/2 cup sweet white onion: finely chopped
  5. 1/2 cup ripe tomato (we use soma tomatoes, but any can be used): seeded and diced
  6. 1/4 cup of fresh sweet corn (can also use canned or frozen): off the cob
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. Pinch of pepper

Then collect following materials:

  1. Mixing bowl
  2. Sharp knife (if not using prepared vegetables)
  3. Cutting board
  4. Mashing utensil (any fork or spoon will work
  5. Serving dish

Caution: A knife will be used to cut the ingredients, appropriate supervision is advised.

How to Pit and Cut and Avacado

Step 1:

Mash avocados in a bowl with the lemon and lime juice.

Step 2:

Mix in minced onion, diced tomato, and corn that has been cut off cob (or frozen or canned corn).

Step 3:

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4:

Place in a serving dish and enjoy!!
