Introduction: ââ¬ËGranny Shackââ¬â¢ Presentation Booth
A project to build a shack for under $150 using materials found in Home Depot. It reincarnated into a presentation booth during its development.
price calculations
2” x 3” - 8’—9 pieces @ $1.92 = $ 17.28
4’ x 8’ plywood = $ 12.57
Rigid angle connectors—19 pieces @ $ 1.98 = $ 37.62
Stair connectors—4 pieces @ $ 5.85 = $ 23.40
1-1/2” angle connectors—6 pieces @ $ 0.58 = $ 3.48
3” angle connectors—12 pieces @ $ 1.23 = $ 14.76
Hinge—2 sets @ $ 2.58 = $ 5.16
TOTAL = $ 114.27

Step 1: 1
Buy 1 piece of 4’ x 8’ plywood with 3/4” minimum thickness & 8 pieces of 1 1/2” x 2 1/2” dimensional lumber.
Step 2: 2
Cut the plywood with 2 diagonal cuts from one corner to the midpoint of the opposing side. Cut 3 pieces of the dimensional lumber exactly in half.
Step 3: 3
Glue the 2 right triangle pieces together so you have 2 triangles with congruous dimensions. Combine the dimensional lumbers into 3 frames using ‘sandwich rigid-angle’ connectors.
Step 4: 4
Use stair angle connectors to connect the 2 plywood triangles into one of the lumber frames by putting the triangles into vertical positions.
Step 5: 5
Connect the remaining 2 lumber frames by positioning them perpendicular against the base frame.
Step 6: 6
Use these 2 perpendicular frames as a handle to tilt the object in its entirety 900 into upright position.
Step 7: 7
Reposition the perpendicular frames into your desired positions.
IMPORTANT: move one frame at a time. Make sure to fasten and properly connect a repositioned frame before you reposition the other.

Step 8: 8
Using scrap objects you can find, reinforce the strength of each lumber frames’ corners. IMPROVISE!
