Introduction: Green Glittery Slime

I am a preschool teacher and this is one of our favorite activities in school. The children love the science behind it and they love to make it.

Supplies

2 cups - White Elmers Glue

1 1/2 cups - Hot Water

3/4 Teaspoon - Borax Soap

1 1/3 cups - Hot Water

Food Coloring

Glitter

Step 1:

Pour 2 cups of white Elmer's Glue into a large bowl.

Add 1 1/2 cups of hot water and stir until thoroughly mixed.

Step 2:

After the mixture is completely mixed add several drops of your favorite color of food coloring. Stir until your mixture is the color that you want. Glitter is optional but my kids love it.

Step 3:

Meanwhile in a separate bowl, combine 3/4 of a teaspoon of Borax detergent with 1 1/3 cup of hot water. Mix until the detergent is completely dissolved.

Step 4:

Now comes the SCIENCE. Gently stir the soap and water mixture into the glue mixture and watch the magic happen.

Step 5:

If your mixture feels too sticky add hand lotion. Use as much as you think you need to alleviate the stickiness. The lotion makes it smell good too.

Step 6:

Now you are ready for some fun with your slime. We like to add additional items to our slime. Sometimes we will add some gems or sequins to it just to make it a little more interesting.
