Intro: Grilled Cheese Waffles

In this Instructable, learn how to make a grilled cheese sandwich in a waffle iron. You need to try a grilled cheese waffle if you haven't tried it yet and if you love grilled cheese sandwiches. It tastes so good and turns out a little different than traditional grilled cheese.

Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables.

Follow the simple steps below, or watch the short video tutorial, or do both!

STEP 1: Assemble the Sandwich

This is super simple. Plug in your waffle iron. Allow it to heat up.

Spread butter, mayo, or margarine on one side of each slice. Place one slice of bread, butter side down in the waffle iron. Make sure the bread is small enough to fit in the iron.

Add a layer or two of your favorite kind of cheese. Then place the other slice of bread, butter side up.

STEP 2: Cook

Close the waffle iron gently and firmly. Depending on your waffle iron you may need to hold the lid down while it cookes. Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes until nice and golden brown.

Remove the sandwich with tongs and place it on a plate.

STEP 3: Serve

Time to gobble up that amazing grilled cheese sandwich. Enjoy!

We make pimento cheese to kill for and think this would work great with that. Great idea. Thanks.
What a great way to do a grilled cheese. I have a friend who does enough for the whole family using a cookie sheet in her oven. I like to use mozzarella cheese and pizza items. Instead of dipping in ketchup, there is a squeeze bottle of pizza sauce available that works very well.
It's really freaking delicious, but too much fat and carbs.
Very nice! I'm hungry now.
