Ingredients:

3 Breakfast Sausage Links {Uncooked}

1 c Hash Browns {Fresh/Frozen}

½ c Onions {Diced/Optional}*

1 Egg

½ c Cheese {Your Favorite}

Salt/Pepper {To Taste}

Servings: 1

Prep: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 25-30 Minutes {Cooking times depend on how hot your fire is.}

*Onion Substitutes or Additions:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Vegetables
  • Scallions

Step 1:

Start with spraying the foil with non-stick spray of your choice, then place three pieces of breakfast sausages in the center of the foil leaving a little space between them. Putting the sausages down first insures that the meat will be closet the heat for proper cooking. The one down side is only one side of the sausage gets browned.

Step 2:

Next add your hash browns making a well in the then middle and drop in 1 egg into the well {whisked or not it is your choice but it does hold together better if not whisked}, add your onions {Optional}, bell peppers {Optional} and top with the cheese, adding salt & pepper to taste. Make a foil pouch and seal it. {How to Make a Foil Pouch and Foil Bag}. Remember if making different varieties to mark on the package what is inside with a maker.

Step 3:

To cook your Grilled Sausage/Potato/Egg & Cheese Omelet, place it directly over the fire for the first 10 minutes then move it onto the edge of the fire on the hot coals or grill grate and cook for 25-30 minutes rotating it 180° half way every 10 minutes.

Note: The breakfast sausage and hash browns will only brown on the bottom.

Warning: Any food coming out of the fire or off the grill will be hot when you go to remove your food from the fire be sure to use something other than your bare hands to retrieve your meals like pot holders, a tea towel or tongs.
