Tired of holding your phone while talking with a friend ? We made an Easy tutorial for making a cardboard phone stand at home.

STEP 1: HOLD IT - Cardboard Phone Stand

What do you need?

  1. Cardboard, 3 pieces (2X 50*50 and 1X40*20 in cm)
  2. Ruler
  3. Scotch tape
  4. Double-sided adhesive paper
  5. String (1.5 m)
  6. 2 rubber bands
  7. Utility knife
  8. Pencil
  9. Skewers X4
  10. Plastic bottle (1.5Ltr)

STEP 2: 1st Part


  1. Copy shape accordingly (download file, all measurements in cm).
  2. Cut the full lines and notch the dashed lines.
  3. Paste the adhesive paper accordingly (to be folded).Uncover the paste, flip side and start folding (start with the longer side).
  4. Make sure to paste the bottom side from the inside.

1st part is done!

STEP 3: 2nd Part


  1. Copy shape accordingly (download file, all measurements in cm).
  2. Cut the full line and notch the dashed lines.
  3. Flip sides and paste the Double-sided adhesive paper on the areas that are about to be folded, uncover the paste and start folding, start with the right side.
  4. 2nd part is done!

STEP 4: 3rd Part


  1. .Copy shape accordingly (download file, all measurements in cm).
  2. Cut the full line and notch the dashed lines.
  3. Flip sides and paste the double-sided adhesive paper on the areas that are about to be folded, uncover the paste and start folding with the longer side.
  4. 3rd part is done!

STEP 5:

  1. Paste the double-sided adhesive paper on the folded area.
  2. Uncover the paste and connect the bottom of the 3rd part
  3. Done!

STEP 6:

  1. Tie the string 10 cm from the bottom of the bottle.
  2. Paste the scotch tape on the string.
  3. Continue taping all around the bottle.

STEP 7:

  1. Stick the skewer according to mark on the cardboard.
  2. Push the skewer all the way through
  3. Cut the the edges , leave no edges.

STEP 8:



  1. Thread the string above the skewer and through the 1st part (according to video 1).
  2. Continue to thread the string through the 2nd part.
  3. Pull the string and thread 1st part into 2nd part (according to video 2).

STEP 9:

  1. Stick the skewer according to the mark on the cardboard.
  2. Push the skewer in.
  3. Cut the skewer and leave 2 cm on each side.

STEP 10:


  1. Pass the string above the skewer.
  2. Tie the string on the top side of the 3rd part.
  3. Roll the bottle until the string is stretched (according to the video).

STEP 11:

  1. Stick the skewer according to the mark on the cardboard.
  2. Push the skewer in.
  3. Cut the skewer and leave 2 cm on each side.

STEP 12:

  1. Embrace the two rubber bands, one on each side of the phone.
  2. Connect the rubber bands with the phone to the skewer.
  3. Done !

STEP 13:



  1. For fixing the high of phone lift the outer part and nail the skewer through bothe parts, to hold them together.
  2. Spin the bottle to fix the angle of the phone / camera .

  3. You're done!

Really nice job on the project and the tutorial :)
You should consider using a photo of the finished stand as your main image in the intro step :)
