Introduction: Habanero Pineapple BBQ Sauce
Sweet pinapple and spicy habañero peppers give this sauce a strong flavor unlike anything you'll find at the grocery store. It's great for adding a kick to your summer grilling. This recipe makes a very small yield, but it's more than enough for dipping. Double or triple it if you plan on coating grilled meats with it.
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
Ingredients:
3 Habañero peppers
1/2 cup pineapple
½ cup balsamic vinegar
1/8 cup molasses
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp hickory Liquid Smoke
Other things you'll need:
A blender or food processor
A meduim-sized pot
Step 2: Preparing the Peppers and Pineapple
Remove the seeds from the peppers. You'll want to wear gloves so you don't get the oils on your hands.
Cut about 1/4 of the pineapple into chunks.
Put both of those into your blender or food processor and liquefy.
Step 3: Simmering
Mix all of your ingredients together, including the liquified mix, in a pot. Simmer until it reaches the desired consistancy, which takes about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally to keep the pineapple sugars from separating.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Bottle it up and enjoy! This keeps very well in the refrigerator.

After an extremely bad experience with peppers I have learned that lemon juice can help to neutralize the oils in peppers, I still agree with usage of gloves though. Getting pepper juice in your eye is something you will never forget.
DO NOT USE LEMON JUICE ON YOUR EYE TO STOP THE BURN OF PEPPER OILS!!! Covering my butt here.

I absolutely love this sauce. :) It has decent kick to it, which I really enjoy, and the pineapple gives it the sweetness that I feel a lot of BBQ sauces lack. This is a very good sauce that I'd recommend to anyone who likes anything sweet and spicy. ^_^
