Introduction: Hair-spiration Wall Art
Looking for the perfect gift for a beauty lover or favorite hairstylist on your list? Look no further than this fun idea: a hair-spiration wall art! This is sure to be a real hair-raising project!
Step 1: Materials
You will need the following items for your hair-spiration masterpiece.
- piles of old magazines
- any size picture frame (I'm using an 11 x 14" inch frame)
- Mod Podge
- sponge brush
- scissors or X-acto knife
Step 2: Flip Through Magazines
Look through your old magazines and use your scissors or an X-acto knife to cut up pictures and words that are hair-related. Then, organize those pieces into one pile, which you will, then, use to make a photo collage!
Step 3: Plan Your Collage
Now, take all of your cut-up pieces and arrange them on a piece of paper that's the same size as your frame. Note that this is not my actual arrangement, but you'll get to see the final result in the end. Because of this, you might want to experiment with placement until you're satisfied with your final piece.
Step 4: Glue Pieces
Once you've settled on your arrangement, glue them down with Mod Podge, adding another layer or so on top to seal. You can also, if you have any larger pictures, let them hang out from the edges of your paper. Then, use your scissors or X-acto knife to cut off the excess.
Step 5: Frame It
Then, once the glue is dry, you can now slip it in your picture frame and it's done!
Step 6: Display
You can now display it in your room for beauty and hair styling inspiration. Or give it to your beauty lover or favorite hair stylist as a gift! I just made this wall art to give to my regular hair stylist named Esther, who runs her own hair salon on Bainbridge in my hometown in the Bronx!
