Introduction: Hairbow Wristband

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

I love how this DIY project takes a simple hairbow and turning it into a fun accessory! For example, making hairbow wristbands! They have a fun pop of color to any outfit and it's a great stocking stuffer idea!

Step 1: Materials

You will need the following items to make your hairbow wristbands...

  • your choice of fabric
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • elastic

Step 2: Make the Hairbow

To start, you need to make the hairbows. So, first fold your fabric over twice to ensure the right thickness. Then, cut out the fabric. Next, fold the ends over and hot glue in place. Once set, pinch the middle for a bow shape and glue the creases down. Then, cut off another piece of fabric or small piece of ribbon to wrap around the middle, then glue the ends together. Once the hairbows are done, you're ready to move on to the next step!

Step 3: Make the Wristband

To turn them into a wristband, simply cut off a piece of elastic to fit around your wrist. My best bet? Wrap the elastic around your wrist and cut where it overlaps. Then, hot glue the ends together. Finally, hot glue the hairbow to the front of your elastic.

Step 4: Wear It in Style!

Now, it's ready to wear around your wrist! These are great to make as gifts and to add to your outfit for a very special accessory that adds that great pop of color! Also makes for great gifts and stocking stuffers!
