Introduction: Halloween Mason Jar 2019
This mason jar project will be a great project for all ages and will be a great addition to any home for decorating during any holiday season. For elementary school teachers, this can be a great idea to do in class for students as Halloween is approaching. Regardless of age or profession, this project can be done by almost anyone since it is inexpensive, requires no advanced steps, and can be crafted in under 30 minutes.
Supplies
- A Mason Jar
- A Stencil
- A Paint Palette
- Paintbrushes
- Acrylic paints, of desired colors
- A Blowdryer
- Newspaper
- A water cup
- Water
- A Piece of Twine
- A Small Artificial Candle
- Tape
- Optional: Painting Gloves
Step 1: Pick the Stencil You Want to Use
Step 2: Use the Tape to Stick the Stencil on One Side of the Jar.
Tape the stencil to the mason jar. Then, trace the outline of the stencil with a sharpie. You may have to hold the stencil down, so you can get a more accurate outline.
Step 3: Fill in the Stencil With Black Paint.
Step 4: Paint the Lid With Black Paint
Take the lid off and paint it with black paint. When done with this step, set the lid to the set to let it dry.
Step 5: Use the Blow Dryer to Dry the Paint That Has Been Applied
This will prevent the paint from spreading.
Step 6: Use the Paint Guide to Mix Your Desired Color Combinations
Use the paint guide to mix your desired color combinations in the palette that is provided.
(red & yellow = orange, blue & yellow = green, red & blue = purple) primary colors & black, white, and brown are ready for use. *only blend the colors you will be using, so paint is not wasted.*
Step 7: Use Your Blended Colors to Paint the Background
Then use your blended colors to paint the background (make sure It Is semi-transparent, so that the light will be able to shine through).
Step 8: Blow Dry the Jar, Until the Paint Is Dry
Step 9: Put the Light Inside of the Jar
The switch Is on the bottom if you want to turn It on and off.
