What You Need:
Novelty Halloween Plastic Severed Hand (£1 from Tesco)
Tools Required:
Drill, Scissors or Stanley Knife
Step 1: Collect Your Materials
I found the plastic novelty Halloween severed hand for £1 at Tesco. I already had the string and BBQ skewer (not shown) left over from another project.
Step 2: Draw THe Outline of the Seed Ports
Using a pencil or marker pen draw out the outline of the seed ports. This will help you cut it out neatly.
Step 3: Cut Out the Seed Ports
Carefully cut out the seed ports using scissors or a stanley knife. DO NOT just use a blade as I am doing in the image above (tut tut!!)
Step 4: First Seed Port Cut Out
When you’ve finished cutting around the outline the seed port should look like this.
Step 5:
Cut out the seed port on the opposite side of the wrist.
Step 6: Drill Hole Through Finger and Create Hanging Loop
Drill a 4mm diameter hole through the top of the middle finger. Cut a 200mm length of string. Thread one end through the finger and then tie both ends together in a knot.
Step 7: Drill Holes for Perch
Drill two small holes on either side of the wrist below the seed ports. Push through the BBQ skewer and trim.
Step 8: Hang Your New Severed Hand Bird Feeder!
Hang your new Halloween Severed Hand bird feeder in the garden and wait for the birds to arrive!
