Introduction: Halloween Yard Stake (cute)

This is a super easy, fun way to decorate for Halloween!

I made this stake for just under 10 dollars
And just about under 25 minutes.

MATERIALS:

1 yard stake ( hobby lobby) 3.49/2
1 pack Cut out boards ( hobby lobby) 4.00/4
Acrylic paint ( your choice)
1 thin paintbrush (writing)
1 bigger paintbrush for the boards and stake itself
Glue gun / glue sticks
Elmer's glue

Step 1: Painting the Stake

Start by sectioning off the stake with colors you'd like or to form a desired pattern , I first marked em with a pen ( as to size and color You want to apply) I used black , green, and purple on the base make sure you do all sides so if your stake is placed angled it looks uniformed all around

Make sure you give it enough time to dry be patient :)

Step 2: Painting/wording

Paint the cutout boards black , set the to dry
Now browse through the Net for cute phrases to put on your boards, anything goes , I decided on " fright this way" and "monsters welcomed" because we get tons of trick or treaters in this area

Get creative!! swirl your letters and exaggerate your letters by over extending or playing around with lettering before you apply it on the boards
And for some glue gun action! Glue the boards onto your stake (make sure to use enough you want to make it sturdy) and almost done!

Step 3: Be Creative!

Add little personal touches, I put a little spider I found in one of my old decorations , and a black shoelace( yes I'am serious) lol ,and my son loves ghosts so I chose to add some paper ghosts I had in my Halloween stash to the edges and repainted them white with white acrylic paint and ( glued them w Elmer's glue) because using the hot glue would melt the little ghost, now I took my orange paint and started adding little touches of it all around to give it a more flowy feel.

Step 4: Re-use Items

5. I took a white paper ghost I had in the house that we got from Halloween city a couple weeks back to use it as a topper, but first I wanted to make sure it was gonna be able to stand up on its own so I cut out some foam ( from boxes I hoard all year long) seriously ! and hot glued it on the very top and TADAHHHHHHH!!

****REMEMBER TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR CUTE LITTLE THINGS YOU CAN ADD ON TO YOUR STAKE AND MAKE IT YOUR OWN, CHECK YOUR OLD HALLOWEEN STASHES , YOUR BASEMENT OR ATTIC OR YOUR GARAGE :) HAPPY HAUNTING!!*****
