Introduction: Halo Covenant Carbine Rubber Band Shooter
This is a Halo inspired project that is updated version of the rubber band pistols of yesteryear. It's very easy to make and will have you dodging rubber bands like a Spartan dodging Covenant fire on Reach. One note: with proper use, rubber bands will end up in every corner of the house.
I hand sketched the carbines on paper and used that as a template on some scrap wood in the garage; for this Instructable I used a web image and converted it into a stencil to download and print. I then used a jigsaw and a drill to cut out the shape. My kids then did a light sanding and we added a clothes pin to the top with two pre-drilled holes so it doesn't split the wood. Finally a quick purple paint job with a spray can finished the project.
Tools:
I made two of these in less than 30 minutes; with more time one could make one of these into something pretty awesome.

That's awesome! I would say that another ten minutes with blue, purple, and green sharpies would make it look even better!
