Intro: Hand Forged Furniture.

Nothing better to put a little elbow grease in the furniture that you love.Let me share with you one of my favorite hobbys Nowadays.
One of the treasuresthat my Dad let me , was his Old forge, well i found some Iron add some Fire and alittle hammer work so these are the results.

STEP 1: The Loop.

First of all I have to say that I´m not a Forge expert ,I just love to heat some Iron and give it some life.
The loop its one of the basics shapes that Masters forgers use in his Metalworks.
So Im going to show how to do it easily.Then How to use the Loop to made some forged furniture.

 Start to heating in the forge the iron until gets Cherry Red, hammer the tip of the Iron and smooth a little.Find the better way to do these.there are some techniques , but certainly Im just a Rookie in these kind of Crafts.Personnally I dont like to use remplates to bend the Iron in heat.

STEP 2: Uses.

You can use the loop to made a lot of Stuff. Frames, chairs,Beds, Lamps.Park benches.

You hammer your S curves and curlicue scrolls? I always thought they were made with bending jigs anymore. Something like this:

You use the ancient hammering method though. Looks good!

In fact with the scroll you get more neat S´s, but I like the Ancient techniques.

That depends of the materials you are working, but the beggining of the S curves, or "Lopps" as I call them, I always work it in hot.
You get the point !!!I like ancient techniques..besides with the scrolls you spend more time, when iron get the temperature you make a lot of S curves in one Hour..
