Introduction: Hand Forged Knifes
This is the process used to hand forge a knife. I used steel that is over 100 years old from a historical Ore Dock that was in our city "Ashland, WI" First picture is the raw twisted ore dock steel used to make this knife. The next picture is of my Majestic two burner forge used, then a picture of my anvil used and then the steel as it was started to hammer into shape. Then when I have the shape and polished for the first time, I reheat the knife to a none magnetic state and then it is oil treated. Once that process is done, I temper the steel, in order to make the knife so that it is not so brittle. Then the last picture is the finished knife with a oak handle and a hand made sheath.

That's a great reuse of materials :) Just for reference if you would like to break down the steps into written instructions and add some progress/step photos so that others can replicate your projects then it will receive more attention from the community and be possible to be featured on the site. https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Create-a-Fe...
