Handcrafted Necklace

Hello Everyone,

I always wanted to gift something handmade to dear ones. So, I got inspired from handcrafted necklace and tried to make one using very minimum items which looks traditional, natural and beautiful. My friend added hanging earrings as pendant which made it look more beautiful.

Supplies

1. Cotton thread

2. Scissors

3. Envelop (12 inches)

4. Ruler (to measure the envelop)

5. Cardboard (10 inches)

6. Glue (Suggest using fabric glue)

I thought of using beads and white pearls but the thread itself looks beautiful so ended up not using them.

Step 1: Making the Necklace

Step 1:

Roll the thread around envelop. I have used all the three threads completely which are about 10m each.

Step 2:

Remove the threads form envelop and combine all the three threads by tying at one end.

Step 3:

Next step is to start simple braiding the three threads as shown.

Step 2: Making Back of the Necklace

Step 4:
Roll two straps of threads to a 10 inch cardboard.

Step 5:

Hold the straps to a tape and start simple braiding both

Step 3: Combining the Back Strap and the Necklace

Step 6:

Combine the back strap and the necklace by tying the thread at the ends on both the sides.

Finally, Tie another thread at the back joining both the ends which also helps to increase and decrease the length of the necklace.

Step 4: Adding More Creativity.

Add your favorite hanging earrings as pedate to make it look more elegant.
