In this project we are going to teach you how to make a clarinet with tools that are easy to find at home.

Supplies

Irrigation pipe
Scissors
Ballon
Insulating tape
Clothesin
Cutter/punch
Sandpaper
Little Straw
Marker pen

Step 1: Place the Balloon

Cut the ballon below where it starts to widen, as it's shown in the picture.

Sand the edge of the tube to make it smooth and place the balloon so that the nozzle of the balloon in facing outwards and the balloon is uptight.

We fix the balloon with insulating tape as shown in the picture.

Step 2: Mouthpiece

We place the clothespin on the insulating tape and perpendicular to the tube.

The end of the balloon is placed on the free end of the clothespin as shown in the picture.

Step 3: Place the Little Staw

We put the little straw througt the hole in the balloon, and we blow it by tying un til we find the correct position, where it sounds like a clarinet.

When we have the correct position we fix whit insulating tape being careful not to obstruct the air column.

Step 4: Make the Holes

With a ruler measure the distancia between holes and mark them with the maker, you can make as many holes as you want, but remember that you only have 10 fingers!!

The distance for a tone is 4cm and for a half tone 2cm approximately.

Tip: check with a tuner what note you get without making and holes and from there you can work on it.
