Introduction: Classroom Hanging Caddy System

This is a modular system of holding 3D printed boxes on a homemade ladder, hangable from a simple nail or screw. This would work great in a classroom environment to organize supplies by type or by table group for kids. The inexpensive nature of this project makes it great for teachers.

Supplies

3D printer

Rope

popsicle sticks

hot glue and glue gun

paint (optional)

Step 1: Download .STL and Print

Download the file Bcaddy and print with supports. Also, consider printing the Bcaddy2spacer to separate the space into two parts, or the Bcaddy4spacer to make four equal sections. I recommend printing all parts at 150% size in your slicer to make it more usable. I also recommend using at least 40% infill on all parts to make them strong enough. The ability to print in different colors to separate pens, pencils, markers, highlighter colors, or by table groups each assigned a color make it great for classroom environments.

Step 2: Paint the Popsicle Sticks (optional)

If you are going to paint the popsicle sticks, now is the time to do it before you assemble the ladder and while your printer is working.

Step 3: Assemble the Ladder

To assemble the ladder you need the rope, popsicle sticks and hot glue gun. lay out your piece of rope thinner than the width of your popsicle sticks so that the ends match up like in the picture. Then add the popsicle sticks and glue them to the rope.

Step 4: Add the Dividers and Attach the Caddy to the Ladder

Insert the divider if necessary and clip the caddy on to a rung of the ladder. the rope can be hung from a single point in the classroom or on a wall.
