Introduction: Hanging Cage Halloween Decor

A quick simple hanging decoration for your Halloween display! (I know lame instructable, but great idea!)

Supplies

Skeleton Halloween Decor

2 Laundry Baskets - we got metal ones from the dollar store. You can use any kind as long as they have open squares to zip tie the two baskets together. Make sure they are large enough to fit your skeleton. We wanted ours to sit with his feet hanging out.

zip ties

tools to cut part of the laundry basket

paint - optional

Rope/or something to hang it with - we got this inexpensive pully from harbor frieght.

Anything extra to decorate with - do you want him to be a pirate? do you want him to have an added friend on top? Ghostly fabric hanging from the cage? It's up to you!

Optional - light to shine on him to show him off at night.

Step 1: Simple Skelly

We got black baskets and black zip ties. That way we didn't have to paint anything. Sit the first basket right side up then set your skelly inside and push his feet through so his legs dangle from the basket. We had to cut some of the basket to make the holes wide enough for his feet to fit.

We placed the second basket over his head. Matched the tops of both baskets together and zip tied all around to get them to stay. We trimmed the ends of the zip ties.

Easiest way to hang him is to punch two holes in the top of it and run a rope through it. Tie a few knots and he is ready to be placed in a tree branch!

We added some extra skeletons, skulls, and some fabric to make it seem like he's been there awhile.

Overall easy, quick and inexpensive decoration for the Halloween display.

Step 2:

We added some lights that flickered like flames and aimed them up at these guys. Made for a great spooky effect at night!
