Introduction: Hanging Garden in Guadua

Hi everyone! In this Instructable I want to highlight the varied beauty and usability that Guadua can have by constructing in a quick and practical way a pot very friendly with the environment, since it takes advantage of a small piece of nature to plant more nature. #greenthumb

Step 1: Materials

  • Guadua
  • Drill
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Hacksaw
  • Gravel
  • Wire
  • Knife
  • Cord
  • Small Guadua rod to hang.
  • An ornamental plant to decorate, I used a plant of the Family of bromeliads
  • An ornamental plant to plant, I used the plant Asparagus Plumosus

Step 2: Construction of the Flowerpot

The first thing to do is cut approximately 10 cm of the Guadua stick with the hacksaw. Then, with the drill open 5 holes for the drain and support the roots of the plant. Finally, open two lateral holes to introduce the cord that will serve to hang the pot.

Step 3: Preparation of the Plants to Be Planted

Carefully with a knife or garden stick remove the plant to sow, then with the knife and tweezers clean the soil from the roots.

Step 4: Planting Technique

To hold the plant firmly and prevent the wind or rain from taking it out of the pot, you must cut 10 cm of wire with the tweezers, then fold it and insert it through two of the holes in the base.

Then add a layer of gravel and introduce the plant. Then, fold the wires until the roots of the plant are firmly secured, and finally cover with more gravel.

Step 5: Cord to Hang the Flowerpot

To hang the flowerpot, insert the cord through the side holes and make a brown knot on each side of the bamboo rod and tie a knot on top to hang it.

Step 6: Decoration

Finally, soak the plant of the bromeliads Family and stick it to the side of the pot to further enhance its nature.
