Introduction: Hanging Pegs Without Hitting Studs

Step 1: The Problem

If you don't hit a stud these type of hangers just don't work with Sheetrock. In my project; my pegs were about 4" apart and I hung 9 of them. Only one hit a stud.

Step 2: The Solution.

Get these type of wall anchors. I prefer the type without the point on the end. Open ended ones - like the ones shown, allow you to use longer screws.

Step 3:

Thread the peg onto the anchor.

Step 4:

Thread until it becomes flush.

Step 5:

Use pliers if necessary.

Step 6:

Go back to your same hole where you didn't hit a stud.

Step 7:

Screw the peg anchor combination into the hole.

Step 8:

Thread it all the way until it becomes tight against the wall.

Step 9:

Use pliers if necessary.

Step 10:

Check that the peg is tight against the wall. And your done.
