Introduction: Hat Rack

As an individual who wears and owns an excessive amount of hats, there comes a time when your closet space becomes overwhelmed and is in need for a cheap and quick solution. With possession of a 3-D printer, this hat rack can be assemble for less than $10 with the following materials (all pictured below):

Step 1: Materials

1) 1/2-in x 36-in PVC Riser (Lowes)

2) Orbit 1/2-in MNPT x 1/2-in MNPT Cut-Off Riser (Lowes)

3) Orbit Irrigation Spray Caps (Lowes)

4) Any clamp with enough space to fit a 1/2- in diameter pipe (3-D Printer)

5) Lanyard clips (Office Depot)

6) 1-in key rings (Office Depot)

Step 2: Preferred Clamp Design

The clamp that I printed was an existing model that I found on thingiverse.com called 'Monster Mouth Headphone Holder - Clampable 2020' (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4445088). Other designs would work as well, as long as they can fit a 1-in diameter piece of piping.

Step 3: Assembly

1) Assemble pieces on one side of the pipe in the following order (as pictured in image 1): 1/2-in x 36-in PVC Riser, Orbit 1/2-in MNPT x 1/2-in MNPT Cut-Off Riser, clamp, Orbit Irrigation Spray Caps.

2) Attach lanyard clips to key rings, and slide them onto the pipe (image 2). Clipped hats optional for this part.

3) Repeat part 1 on the other side of the pipe so that all pieces are attached.

Step 4: Finish

Attach clamps to self/desired area, and finally enjoy a tidy closet!

Hopefully this design is as helpful to you as it is to me.
