This tutorial will show you how to make a fun haunted house pumpkin carving.

You will need:

  • Carving tools
  • Pen
  • Bowl
  • Spoon / scraper
  • Template - download below

Step 1: Drawing the Design

Download the template from this tutorial and cut out the shapes.

For the house template, cut out the black sections.

The grey sections are optional for if you would like to create the outline for the ghost faces.

Trace the house and moon shape in on the middle face of your pumpkin.

On the left side of the house, trace the tree and bat shapes.

On the right side of the house, trace the gravestone and bat shapes.

Step 2: Carve Out the Design.

Carve out the bat, tree and gravestone shapes.

Once done, start working on the house.

If you want to, you can carve some of the pumpkin flesh out to make the outlines for the ghost faces. You can use a small knife, scalpel or carving tool.

Then carve out the eyes and mouth for the face using the carving knife.

Next carve out the door and the circle shape for the window at the top of the house.

Carve around the outlines of the house and the moon and remove all the flesh.

Step 3: Light It Up!

Place a candle or LED light inside the pumpkin and light it up.
