Step 1: Material Required to Make Instant Rava Dhokla
To make this fantastic easy to make and yummy snack all you need to do is gather a few basic ingredients from your kitchen and get started. To make the Instant Rava Dhokla you will need:
1 Big Bowl of Rava/Semolina
1 teaspoons Besan/Chickpea Flour
3 1/2 teaspoon Oil
2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoon Sour Curd
1/2 teaspoon citric acid
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
5-6 green chillies
Step 2: Prepare the Steamer.
The Rava/Semolina Dhokla needs to be steamed. In order to steam it you need a steamer. If you do not have a steamer, we help you in making one.
Take a thick bottomed pan. fill it up with bowl of water, enough to create steam.
Now take a metallic sieve and place it upside down in the thick bottomed pan.
Place a small sized baking dish on top of the metallic Sieve.
Step 3: Start Making the Dhokla!
Take a bowl, and mix up the Rava/Semolina with Besan/Chickpea Flour, Citric Acid and Sour Curd.
Step 4: Mix It Up Well!
Add Sugar and Oil to the bowl as well.
Mix it well to make a batter with smooth consistency,
Take some hot water in a bowl and mix the citric acid well into it.
Mix well until you see air bubbles in the batter!
Step 5: Get the Steamer Ready!
Get the water to a strong boil in the steamer, and place a well greased baking dish on it.
Fill the dish with the Dhokla batter.
Fill the baking dish to half of its capacity, as the batter will rise after it is steamed.
Cover the steamer with a perfectly fitting lid, in order to ensure no steam escapes the steamer.
Steam over a high flame for 7 minutes and low flame for 3 minutes.
Step 6: Time to Temper!
After the Dhokla has risen, take it out and let it rest for 2-4 minutes.
Cut it into diamond shaped slices.
Now temper the dhokla.
Take a pan with some oil and heat it up well. Add the Mustard seeds and slit green chillies.
Let them pop and crackle to release the flavor in the oil.
Pour this tempering on top of the dhokla., for it to absorb flavors.
Garnish the Dhokla with fresh finely chopped green coriander.
