Introduction: Heavenly Chocolate Layered Dessert

This is the best recipe for a layered dessert to put a stop to your sweet tooth. This recipe was given to my family from a family friend and now it is our go-to dish for any pot luck or gathering. Now I will share it with you, so you can enjoy and share this simple yet delicious dessert with your friends and family!

Step 1: Ingredients & Materials

  • 1 Package of Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 (3.9 Ounce) Package of Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding
  • 2 Cups Cold Milk
  • 1 (8 Ounce) Package of Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 (16 Ounce) Container of Cool Whip


  • 9 x 13 Inch Pan
  • Mixer
  • Whisk
  • Saran Wrap
  • 3 Mixing Bowls

Step 2: Make the Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheight
  2. Spray the pan with something such as Pam so the cake mix won't stick
  3. In one bowl take the butter and melt it
  4. In that bowl, add in the egg and the package of cake mix
  5. Stir until it is one complete mixture
  6. Take mixture out of the bowl, and place into the pan
  7. Press the mixture so it is evenly spread out throughout the entire pan
  8. Bake for 15 minutes
  9. After baking let the cake cool

Step 3: Make the Chocolate Pudding

  1. In another bowl pour in the milk
  2. Add in the pudding mixture
  3. Whisk the mixture for 2 minutes
  4. Cover the bowl with Saran Wrap
  5. Refrigerate for 5 minutes

Step 4: Make the Cheese Cake Layer

  • In the 3rd and final bowl add the cream cheese
  • Add in the powdered sugar
  • Mix at a low speed until it is one mixture
  • Add in 2 cups of Cool Whip
  • Stir in the Cool Whip until it is one mixture
  • Set aside until the cake mix from Step 2 is cooled

Step 5: Layer the Dessert

  1. Once the cake mix is cooled get the cheesecake mixture from Step 4
  2. Remove the mixture from the bowl and put on top of the cake
  3. Spread evenly throughout the entire cake
  4. Grab the pudding from Step 3 out of the refrigerator
  5. Uncover, and remove the pudding from the bowl and place on top of the cheesecake layer
  6. Spread out the pudding evenly
  7. Grab the rest of the Cool Whip
  8. Remove the rest of the Cool Whip from the container and place on top of the pudding layer
  9. Spread evenly
