Introduction: Heel to Toe Hockey Stick Taping Tutorial

About: Hi, dis is me.

In this instructable, I will teach you how to tape a hockey stick (obviously). I will be showing you the heel to toe method. Some people tape their hockey sticks from toe to heel, but heel to toe is much better. This fact is based on two important pieces of evidence.

A: It's the way I've always done it.

B: Well... never mind.

Supplies

Here is a list of stuff you will need.

1: Hockey Stick (duh)

2:Hockey Tape

3: Knife or scissors

4: Hockey wax (optional)

5: Maple Syrup (this is NOT optional, the other items are; but this is NOT.)

Step 1: Prepare Stick/ Remove Tape

Get your stick. Remove any tape that may be on the blade. Take a nap.

Step 2: Put a Strip on the Bottom

The step title says it all; but, in case you missed it, put a strip of tape on the bottom. Start at the heel and stick the tape along the bottom all the way to the top of the toe (see pictures for reference). Fold over the sides of tape as neatly as possible.

Step 3: Get Your Wrap On

Start wrapping from the heel and work your toward the toe, overlapping the layers slightly. The more you overlap the layers, the longer you can go without retaping. However, less overlap will give you a slightly better feel for the puck (you do know what a puck is don't you?). When you reach the toe, leave some flaps sticking off the end. Then trim these off with your knife or scissors.

Step 4: Rub Wax on Blade

As has been stated, you now need to rub your hockey wax onto your blade. If you rub it from toe to heel, you will press down your overlaps as you wax your stick.
