Introduction: Hell Fuel for Melting Iron. Charcoal, Coal and Coke.More Than 1500 Degrees Celcius (2732 °F)

I'm going to use special "hell fuel" for melting iron. The main reason of doing this is really high iron melting point. Therefore, I'll mix charcoal, coal and coke to get the highest possible temperature. I hope to reach 1500 °C (2732 °F).

Step 1: 3 Components

To prepare mixture we need 3 components: charcoal, coal and coke.

Step 2: Inflaming and Burning Temperature

There are 2 important parameters which will have a huge influence on a final result which is to melt some iron or steel. The first one is when fuel inflames and the second is the level of the temperature which it can create. On the table you can see both inflaming and burning temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Step 3: Crushing and Mixing

We need to use small pieces of charcoal, coal and coke because only this way they will burn as they should. Crushing all 3 components on small pieces and after that mixing all 3 together. Make sure they are properly mixed.

Step 4: How It Works...

1. Charcoal has the lowest inflaming temperature from 200 to 350 °C (2732 °F). It depends on the type of wood which was used and some other factors. Charcoal allows to create the temperature 1100-1300 °C (2012-2372 °F)

2. Charcoal will start up coal. Coal inflames at about 400 °C (752 °F) and has maximum temperature of fire 1927-2100°C (3500-3812 °F)

3. Coal will start up coke. Coke inflames at 700 °C (1292°F) and it burns at maximum temperature from 2300 to 2500 (4172-4532°F).

Melting and casting Iron will be in my next Instructable. Thanks for reading this :)
