Introduction: Helping Hands

Ive seen a lot of helping hands on here and decided to make a version of my own because i really needed one.

Step 1: Materials

Parts:

coax cable

alligator clips

screws

piece of wood

heatshrink tubing

spade terminals

Tools:

drill

lighter

x-acto knife

wire crimpers/ wire cutters

screwdriver (phillips)

Step 2: Make the Arms

Cut the coax cable to the desired length. Then I used an x-acto knife to cut down the cable and took off the outer layer and a coating of wire under the outer layer.  then slide one end of the cable into the alligator clip and crimp it. i put a piece of heat shrink tubing over it too. then put the other end of the cable into the spade terminal and crimp it again. Do this for as many arms as you want. i made 3 with alligator clips and one with a magnifying glass.

Step 3: The Base

Drill holes in the wood for the screws. when you get the screws screwed in, slide the spade terminals on the cables under the screws and tighten them to hold the arms in place. I figured this would be easy to move the arms or switch them around.

Step 4: All Done!

There are endless possibilites to what you can make for legs and attatchments. Please rate and comment. I hope you enjoyed this instructable. Thanks for viewing :)
