Introduction: Helping Out My Car Air Conditioning Again!

In the hot tropical climate I call my home, air conditioning is a nice luxury. I demand maximum performance!

In my car I noticed cold air leaking through the feet vents even when the mode selector is on the dash vents. Also I always have the AC on recirculation mode however engine bay heat and outside smell do leak in.

Time to fix these inefficiencies with a can of foam sealant!

Step 1: Identifying the Areas for Treatment.

The feet vents, the fresh air intake and the unused heater core are areas for applying the foam sealant. I want no air or heat migration in these three areas.

For the fresh air intake the cowling needed a partial slide up onto the windscreen to access the duct.

Step 2: Applying the Foam.

A single can of foam was more than sufficient for the sealing of the areas. Now the air blows a bit stronger in the car and the air conditioning is colder!

Not bad for a low cost diy job!
