Intro: Holographic Video Call Hat

Here is my #Rethinkphone entry

STEP 1: Holographic Display

The holographic display is achieved using a technique referred to as peppers ghost effect, and functions as shown in the image. although the actual screen/projector is above the lens, the eye is deceived into thinking that it's actually behind the reflective surface because it doesn't know that the light changed direction.

The purpose of the screen is for menu navigation and viewing the person you are currently calling whilst still being able to see what's in front of you.

STEP 2: Cameras

The purpose of the forward facing camera is to be able to take action videos, such as a go pro, or, when video calling someone, be able to show them where you are, what your doing, ect.

With the front/face facing camera, with it's location on the bill of the hat, it is always looking at the best angle of your face and there is no strain of holding up your phone. Also no ugly angles seeing up your nose or anything :)

STEP 3: Bone Conduction Speakers

Stereo bone cunduction speaker resonate the sound through your skull, resulting in high quality sound without having anything in your ears.

STEP 4: Methods of Input

Of course, you would have to control this somehow and for that it would have voice recognition and able to see and use your hand as a control with the forward facing camera.

STEP 5: This Is Entirely Possible!

Before you think otherwise, all of this technology is entirely possible and already invented, but has not been put together and used in this fashion(as far as I know).

STEP 6: Thank You

Thank you for viewing, God bless and have a great day!

Well you could use a raspberry pi in your back pocket, have a USB sound card for mic and speakers, I'm sure there is a screen that can be used like this for the pi and then use jasper speech to text for control. should work? obvs need to run Skype somehow!
that would probably work pretty good!

Thanks for the idea! It would be nice for the people who fancy wearing hats!

He's right. This is an idea, not a set of instructions. And by the way, that's what the contest called for. Good job!

this is an idea. not an instructable.
