Introduction: Homage to Square Box
Josef Albers is one of my favourite painters. I decided to customize a MDF box with a "Homage to Square" theme, as a gift to my wife.
Step 1: Step 1
I started with a MDF box. This one cost me $7.
Step 2: Step 2
My box comes with a cover and a "cross", which divides the box interior into four smaller spaces.
Step 3: Step 3
I downloaded a lot of Josef Albers's "Homage to Square" pictures, and edited them, using Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw. Then, I took them to a printer bureau and printed them on adhesive brilliant paper. It cost around $15. Then, I cut the figures with a stylet.
Step 4: Step 4
Start: I pasted the yellow bands around the cover.
Step 5: Step 5
Then, I put the "Homage to Square" big pictures on both sides of the cover.
Step 6: Step 6
The sides of the box were then coated with the small Albers images, making a continuous band around the chest.
Step 7: Step 7.1
I fixed then, one by one, the background the images and the inner sides ones of the box, creating a visual mosaic.
