Introduction: Home Make a Cheap Hot Air Soldering Station
Hi friends. Today i will show you Home Make a Cheap Hot Air Soldering Station
Step 1: Watch the Video
In this video. I show you Home Make a Cheap Hot Air Soldering Station with low cost.
Step 2: Make PCB
I use Eagle software for make layout. You can download all of thing need to make PCB here. You can make at home by yourself but you can use my gerber file and upload to JLCPCB.COM for make PCB online. I order PCB from JLCPCB.COM alot of time and i alway get PCB with high quality only 2$ for 10PCB and Big Discount on First order Shipping.
Step 3: Prepare Component and Solder to PCB

not working with this electrical parts (in list)
use the parts in video the list of parts does not match the parts of the video
and the output it gives 160v ac😑
for 220 ac change
330ohm resistor instead of 390ohm
3.3k ohm resistor instead of 33k ohm
capasitors in video not mach the parts
and my massage for long technical:
please provide a correct tutorial you confused us with this wrong tutorial even the list of parts does not match the video

I made this and it works great! I had the PCB printed. I used a 390 ohm and instead of a 33k, I used a 47k resistor. Don't worry about the video as it also shows he never added the LM317 until he showed it fully assembled. Just use the PCB to make it. AND on the MOC3020, you short the pins 2 and 3. Good luck. I love this project.

You basically have two circuits. One for the heating element, 220vAC and one for the fan, 24vDC on the same board.

hi and thanks for replay i use all part of list but not work and after this i change 16v cap to 50v
I'm disappointed😭
These photos are not complete. I later added a 390k resistor and connected the moc3020 pins
But it did not work again

What is your Heater output voltage? Can you adjust it with the pot? Is your wand pinout connected right? I had to change mine based on the manufacture's pinout.
Reply 2 years ago
output voltage is 160v when i change 390 to 330 ohm output voltage was 218-220v
potentiometer (10k and 5k) does not change the output voltage
and
and i open the handle hot air gun shild to got pinout this pinout is true
i test it

I'm not quite sure where to advise you further. Maybe test your continuity and make sure you have good solder joints.

hi
i made pcb board and I prepared the parts
but shematic does not match with assembeld board in video for example
33k resistor in shematic but it used 330ohm in video
or
390ohm resistor and this video used anoder resistor
what to do?
pcb shematic or video?????

I reverse engineered the schematic from the PCB. I can send it to you if you like.

I'm building it and according to the plan, there's a 2A fuse for the 220VAC
heater and 1A AC-DC converter for the DC fan. Does that help?

LIST PART
CAPACITOR: 14UF/16V X2
14UF ??? Or 47UF Sir
Reply 2 years ago
And you always double the voltage of the capacitor from the circuit. 24v DC = 50v cap.
These should be 47uF, not 14
Reply 3 years ago
47 uF is correct
resistor 51k not a usual resistor . I make it by 47k+4.7k
and I change 39k resistor ( near potantiometer) with 47 k

In the video it looks like you have a lot of the boards. Is that right? Do you have extras to sell? Can you sell a kit that has the board and all the other needed components?
