Intro: Home Sweet Metal Type

Materials

  • Wood - I used 4mm birch plywood
  • Metal type - I used Bodoni 48pt

Tools

  • Laser cutter
  • Digital caliper
  • Glue
  • Varnish spray

STEP 1: Create

Use the digital caliper to measure the metal types for your drawing.

The finished piece is 3 pieces glued together. The front is engraved + cut. The middle and back are just cut.

Cut + engrave settings depends on what laser cutter you're using.

STEP 2: Finish

Sand, glue, varnish and enjoy.
