Introduction: Homemade Fishing Bobbers
These are some bobbers that I made based off of one that I found. Somebody had made it and lost it at Jefferson Lake, where I picked it up. They are outstandingly easy to make. Just look at the pictures. They work because the weights on the bottom hold the wood upright. When the line (which is TIED to the eye screw) is pulled, the entire bobber tips over, making it highly visible when you get a hit. I plan to paint mine in high visibility colors as soon as I get some paint. I haven't actually tried casting one of these, so I really hope that the adhesive I used to hold on the weighted side of the bobber (made from nuts, bolts, and washers.) Enjoy.

I made a wooden bobber and they are EPIC! they are heavy so they cast far and accurate, and yet they're wood, so they're unsinkable.

Cool idea. I know that a lot of the old-fashioned bobbers looked similar to that. In a nice bright red, I'm sure it would work well.
For the weights, maybe you could pre-drill a short hole in the center to allow for a bolt, that way you could pile on some washers and less chance of losing it (as the adhesive might wear down over time?)

On the smaller one, the bolt holds itself in. On the longer one, the drill bit was just wider than the bolt, so I used an adhesive just in case. Thanks.
