Homemade Gummies
Intro: Homemade Gummies
Make delicious gummies in any shape or flavor you want!
STEP 1: Gather Ingredients and Supplies
To make the gummies, you will need the following ingredients and supplies:
Ingredients:
One package of flavored Jell-O
Three (.25 oz) packets of unflavored gelatine
1/3 cup water
Supplies:
Small saucepot
Metal spoon
Candy/Chocolate molds
Something that pours well (for example, I'm using a creamer pot)
Optional: Cornstarch and paintbrush (to keep the gummies from sticking to one another)
STEP 2: Melt
Combine all of the ingredients into your saucepot and let sit for about 5 minutes. The gelatin will firm up during this time.
Place the saucepot on medium-high heat, and melt the gelatin. This only takes a couple of minutes - be sure to stir continuously so it doesn't burn!
As soon as all of the gelatin is melted, pour the mixture from the saucepot to your pourable vessel.
STEP 3: Fill and Cool
Pour the mixture into your candy molds. The number of gummies this recipe yields depends on the size and shape of the molds you choose to use.
Let the molds sit for about 20 minutes (or 10 minutes in the refrigerator) or until the gelatin cools and firms up.
STEP 4: Peel
Peel the gummies from their molds, and store them in an airtight container.
I recomment brushing each of the gummies with a light coat of cornstarch so they don't stick to one another or the container.
STEP 5: Enjoy!
Now you have your favorite flavored gummies!
This is so easy to do, it's perfect for sharing. Just choose your candy molds according to a holiday, party theme, or interests for a unique and yummy treat.

How long can these be stored for?

I made this recipe and the came out fantastic, and so easy and delicious. The only question is how to make them a little shiny like store bought. It just might be that I used a dark raspberry jello.

Most commercial gummies seem to have a sugar coating on the outside - have you tried using powdered sugar as your non-stick agent?
