Introduction: Homemade LED Light
This instructable will show you how to wire an LED to a small battery. The process is very simple and easy to understand. You can use this tutorial to learn some basics of wiring LED's, or making a flashlight.
The materials needed for this project are:
Wires, and LEDs
Step 1: Gathering Materials
The materials you will need for this project are available from Amazon.
These are the links to the materials:

Battery

Wires

If you do not have access to Amazon, you can find all these materials at a Radio Shack or electronics store.
Step 2: The Battery
On the battery there is a side that has a + sign. This is where the positive wire will connect to. The negative wire will connect to the other side.
Step 3: Wiring
For my personal preference, I use red for positive and black for negative. You can keep the wires secure on the battery by using electrical tape.
Step 4: The LED
The way you can tell which leg of the LED is positive is by the length. On the LED's the longer leg is positive and the shorter one is negative, so you need to connect the positive wire to the long leg and the negative wire to the shorter leg. This should complete the current and turn your LED on.
Step 5: What Next?
Now you can use your led to light up things, or you can use it to show others that you can now wire an LED. You could also build a case to make this a flashlight. Whatever you do is up to you.
