Introduction: Homemade PB&J.

About: computoman.blogspot.com Bytesize articles instead of a trilogy in one post.

One of my favorite fast foods. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the ultimate. Who did not like PB&J as a kid (At least in the US). You can not eat just two if you are real hungry.  Once you have done this instructable, you will never get the jar stuff again. Yummy!!

Note: I probably was too carried away with peaches in the food processor. That is why it looks so thin. You can also use this same idea to make a topping for pasta and or pizzas.... https://www.instructables.com/id/Peanut-butter-and-jelly-pizza/

Step 1: What's Needed

Ingredients:
Unsalted peanuts. (You might could use lightly salted peanuts if you are addicted to salt)
Fresh fruit or canned fruit will do in a pinch.
Olive oil (not extra virgin unless you are a glutton for punishment)
Bread (You could make your own bread and really make it home made. https://www.instructables.com/id/Italitex-Bread/

Tools:
Personal food processor
Paring knife (if you need to peel fruit).
Butter knife (for spreading the PB&J)
Separate containers for PB&J.
Can opener. (if you do not use fresh fruit.
Toaster (optional)

Step 2: Do the Peanuts.

Fill up the bowl of the personal food processor with peanuts. (You do not want to add peanuts later as they usually do not grind properly).

Add oil to about 1/4 inch up the container. A little practice will let you know the correct amount.

Add spices if you wish.

Grind the peanut and oil mixture to you favorite consistency. We like crunchy.

Empty to a separate container and chill well. The mixture will tighten up a bit during the chill process.

Optional: Roast your peanuts in the oven first to get and even deeper taste.

Step 3: Do the Jelly.

If you are using canned fruit. be sure to drain the fruit well. The liquid can be used for a cool drink later.

Fill the personal food processor with the pared or canned fruit.

Grind just enough to be a think slurry. Keeping chunks will make it easier to spread later.

Empty into a container and chill.

Step 4: Time to Eat.

You can toast the bread to add some texture variation to the sandwich.

Spread the jelly on one piece of bread.

Spread the peanut slurry on another piece of bread.

Join the two pieces of bread together so the PB&J is on the inside.

You can slice the sandwiches if you wish.

Eat!!

Step 5: Alternative.

If you are alergic to peanuts, you could use mashed sweet potatos instead of the peanuts. Never hurts to try new things. Toasting the bread wotul give the sandwich a bit more texture..
