Introduction: Homemade Pico De Gallo

This recipe is colorful and easy. All you need is four ingredients and two supplies. It's that simple.

Step 1: Get Your Ingredients and Supplies!

The ingredients for this salsa is pretty simple. I made my batch a little bit smaller, but you can make as much as you want. All you need is:

  • 1 tomato
  • 1 jalapeno ( You can also use a serrano pepper.)
  • 1 green onion (You can use a full white onion if you want but it's optional.)
  • 1 lime

Now for your supplies, all you need is:

  • a knife
  • a bowl

Step 2: Start Off by Cutting Your Ingredients

Now lets get started by chopping up your ingredients. I first started off with my green onion. I attempted to cut the green onion slices finely, but it didn't exactly work out. I chose to go with a green onion because it's not as tear jerking like a regular onion.

Step 3: Chop Up Your Tomato

I then start chopping up my tomato. I first cut it in slices and then even thinner slices. From there, I then dice the tomatoes. I find this way easier because you don't have big chunks of tomato when you are eating the salsa.

Step 4: Cut Up Your Preferred Pepper

As I said before, you can use serrano peppers or jalapenos. I chose jalapenos because they are a little bit bigger and you get more out of it. I first sliced off the head of the pepper and then I cut it open. I then scoop out the seeds so my salsa won't be too spicy. It's easier to cut from the inside of the pepper than the outside because the skin is tough to go through. Cut slices from the inside and then dice them up. Make sure you don't rub your eyes after you cut the pepper up. It is not a fun experience to have your eye sting for a quite a few minutes. Trust me. It is not fun. Wash your hands thoroughly.

Step 5: Add in Last Ingredient and You're Done

I cut my lime in half and squeezed out the lime juice into the the salsa. Pico de Gallo is one of the easiest salsas to make. All you need is four ingredients and any additional items if you want. Well this has been my recipe and i hope you enjoy it!
