Intro: Homemade Pumpkin Spice

A warming, deliciously aromatic homemade blend of ground spices.

Since arriving home from America, I have acquired a small 'obsession' with all things pumpkin spice-y.

Everyone has to start somewhere - My ultimate goal is my own pumpkin spice syrup for my latte, but you can add the spices to almost anything.

STEP 1: You Will Need

Ground spices in the following combination:

  • 3 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons of nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground all spice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cloves

A small mixing bowl

Measuring spoons

A whisk or a spoon for mixing

An airtight storage jar

STEP 2: Mix

Place all the spices in your bowl and mix

STEP 3: Jar Up

Put the mixed spices in an airtight jar.

I didn't have an airtight jar, so I put some sticky tape over the holes of a clean shaker jar

Note: The little pumpkins in the images are for decoration only, you don't need them

Yes, we do have an obsession for our Pumpkin Spice! It's also wonderful with Apples, Peaches, a little bit with pears...or spice alone in a cake. Mixed with brown sugar, flour and butter for toppings. For me, The quality of the cinnamon is very important. Enjoy...Pumpkin Spice, is wonderful any season of the year!

Thank you.

It's a new thing for me. I spent the beginning of Autumn / Fall there and, oh my gosh, I loved every sight, sound, smell and, of course, taste (",)

Thank you for your tips and ideas. I shall be using them.

Here in the UK, pumpkin 'season' doesn't exist. Once Halloween has gone - bye-bye pumpkins grrrrr :-(

I love pumpkin, love it any time of year. ?My brother used to live in St Albans. He would take back to the UK a suitcase full of goods that he could not get. Pumpkin was one of them. If you want more ideas, check out Pinterest.
